Recently, I was working with a customer designing Power BI reports and dashboards. Everything was going great until she asked this question, “Is it possible to set the hyperlink of a tile on a dashboard to go to a specific page on a report?”. Hmmm, I thought. Is it possible? I dug around the Power BI documentation page looking for an answer, but could not find anything.
While she worked on some additional report formatting I continued my research, and stumbled upon a golden nugget when viewing a report in the Power BI service. Pay close attention to the URL when navigating between the different pages in the report. As I changed pages I noticed that the URL suffix changed.
Page 1, ReportSection, Page2, ReportSection1, Page 3, ReportSection2, this continued in the same manner for each page that was added.
What a great find! I explained this to the customer. We copied the URL for the corresponding page, returned to the dashboard and set the hyperlink to the tile to that URL.
